W Beam Guardrail Material & Manufacturing Requirements; • Base Material: Mild steel is suitable for highway guardrail applications; • Fabrication: All items must be machine-formed and dimensionally accurate; Sharp edges, burrs, and deformation are not acceptable; • Welding (if any): Clean, uniform, and structurally sound; No cracks, porosity, or undercut allowed; 3. Galvanizing Requirements; • Type: Hot Dip Galvanizing (HDG); • Finish: Dull Grey / Matte Finish (not shiny or bright silver); • Standard; ASTM A123 / ASTM A153 or equivalent international standard; • Coating must be; o Uniform; o Fully bonded; o Free; 4. Quality & Inspection; • Dimensional tolerance must comply with international guardrail standards; • Galvanizing thickness to meet minimum standard requirements; • Supplier must allow third-party inspection if required; • Mill Test Certificate (MTC) and Galvanizing Test Report to be provided.
