Sourcing Requirements
This mixer will be the primary R&D tool and must be universally capable of processing standard rigid PVC, as well as extremely heavy and abrasive proprietary formulations 1. MATERIAL CHARACTERISTICS (Critical for Machine Design) The machine must handle dynamic changes in recipes, including our heaviest "Dry-Blend" formulation Base Polymer: Rigid rPVC flakes/powder (K-value 57-60) Metals: Recycled Aluminum flakes/powder (up to 15%) Fillers: Heavy mineral oxides and silicates (up to 30% / high abrasiveness) Liquids: Soybean oil (ESBO) and liquid plasticizers (DOTP) Bulk Density Note: Due to the heavy oxides and metals, our worst-case mixture has a high bulk density (approx. 1.0 - 1.2 kg/L) 2. REQUIRED CUSTOMIZATIONS & UPGRADES A standard PVC mixer will not survive these abrasive recipes. We strictly require the following upgrades +1 Extreme Wear Resistance: The hot mixer blades (paddles) and the inner wall/bottom of the hot mixing pot MUST be treated with Tungsten Carbide (or an equivalent highly wear-resistant bimetallic coating) Upgraded Motor & Drive: The hot mixer requires an oversized, heavy-duty motor with a premium frequency inverter (ABB, Siemens, or equivalent) to provide massive starting torque for the heavy mineral mass without stalling Active Degassing System: The hot mixer lid must feature an active exhaust/vacuum venting system to effectively remove moisture from recycled minerals and outgassing Automated Liquid Dosing: A precision liquid injection system for ESBO/DOTP oil (injected directly into the vortex at elevated temperatures) Precise Temperature Control: Dual PT100 sensors and highly responsive pneumatic discharge valves to prevent shear-heat degradation of the aluminum/PVC mix Dust & Explosion Safety (ATEX-ready): As we may occasionally test fine dehydrated organic powders, the mixer seals, venting, and electronics must meet basic anti-dust/explosion safety standards 3.
